We’ve always believed that real food comes from real care, and today we’re proud to share an important step forward in that commitment.
As of December 2025, Alive Wholefoods is already 100% cage-free across:
All eggs sold on our retail shelves
All eggs used in our in-house kitchen and prepared foods
This has been an important milestone for our team. Now we have the goal of reaching out to suppliers to implement the same changes by the end of 2026.
Cage-free eggs come from hens that are free to move, stretch, dust-bathe and express natural behaviours, simple freedoms that make a meaningful difference to their wellbeing. Supporting these farming practices aligns deeply with what Alive stands for: ethical choices, responsible sourcing and real food that reflects real values.
By committing to use only cage-free eggs, we’re not only supporting better farming systems, but also empowering our customers to make choices grounded in compassion, sustainability and transparency.
Our transition has been supported in partnership with Animals Don’t Speak Human, an organisation dedicated to improving animal welfare standards across Indonesia. Their guidance has helped us identify where we are already strong, where we can improve, and how we can move toward full compliance in a meaningful and measurable way.
We’re grateful to collaborate with a team that shares our belief that animals deserve a life free from confinement and unnecessary suffering. With their support, we’re working toward our final milestone: ensuring every egg and egg-based ingredient used or sold at Alive comes from cage-free sources.
Over the coming months, we’ll continue working closely with our remaining suppliers to complete this transition. As we progress, we will keep our community informed openly and honestly just as we always have.
